Aim and Objectives:
In order to revive and sustain this sanctimonious legacy of excellence and to provide a platform for the reunion to all the students, the Department of English, Bhavnagar University has formed an Alumni Association. Here are its aims and objectives.
Aims and Objectives:-
- The Alumni Association assures its commitment to the cause of a dynamic equilibrium within the society and environment.
- It aims at reinforcing its cultural and ethical values and value-added education.
- The association keeps the principles of excellence, efficiency, and equity in its frame.
- By identifying social requirement, the association aspires to generate an environment to furnish career solutions through interactive programs amongst the students past and present.
- To evolve and execute educational and developmental programs, social awareness program, knowledge acquisition, development preservation, dissemination and extension of frontiers of knowledge in the interest of ‘community at large’.
- It is a need of the hour to create awareness about the social responsibilities of the well-trained citizens in order to generate the sense of ‘Giving back to society’. Hence, the association plans to channelize members’ talents and energy to activities like blood donations, tree-plantation, organizing book fairs, social awareness programs like polio eradication campaigns etc.
- With a view to propelling research activities amongst the students, the association wishes to organize research seminars, conferences, symposia, workshops etc on various research areas. Add to that, the association shall spread a word amongst the members about such research programs being organized at various venues. The association also aspires to launch an e-journal of research in language and literature, in future.
- The students of the Department of English have always held their alma mater in high esteem. It has been observed that they have a tendency to co-operate the fellow sailors of the same boat. This sense of reciprocation is the crux of the foundation of the association. There will be an undercurrent of sagacity and magnanimity in all its activities.
- To undertake all such activities as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of the aforementioned aims and objectives.
