Poet, Editor, Poet-teacher, and Poetry Out Loud Coordinator Phyllis Meshulam from California United States delivered a talk in Department of English. The talk was organised by Almni Association of Department of English with Rotary Club Bhavnagar as a part of cultural exchange programme. Our special thanks to active Rotarian Prof. Himal Pandya, and Prof. Dilip Barad for inviting the speakers to Department. Prof. Sunil Sharma, Principal of Valiya Arts and Commerce College was the guest of honour of the function. Alumnus Dr.Chetan Trivedi, Dr.Dhvani Joshi, and Dr. Heenaba Zala attended the talk with the students of Department. The function began with floral welcome. Hand picked flowers were chosen by Nidhi Jasani, Rradha Ghevariya, Ravi Bhaliya, Bhumi Joshi, Kishan Kubavat, and Nikunj Bhatti from the garden of Department of English and floral welcome of the guests and the speaker preceeded by Semester 2 students Dodiya Meghana, Monali Jethwa and Virji Bathvar. Prof. Himal Pandya introduced Phyllis and Jerry Meshullam. Phyllis shared poems and interpreted nicely and displayed her poetic work art. She also displayed the poems of American Poets from www.cpits.org and www.poetryoutloud.com The session turned into an interactive session and student participants asked meaningful questions to quench their poetic thirst and got satisfactory answers in the form of poetic elixir from Phyllis. Vaidehi Hariyani from Semester 2, and Dave Nimesh from semester 4 offered vote of thanks to Phyllis & Jerry. As token of love a book was offered by Bhumi Joshi from Semester 4. Prof.+Sunil Sharma delivered a speech at last expressing his gratitude and it was followed by the inspirational words from the H.O.D. Dr. Dilip Barad.
